Getting things done!

Collaborate With RSVP of Scioto County

RSVP could be called a matchmaker. How else can you describe bringing together a volunteer and a service agency for a relationship which benefits both?

When one of our partnering organizations have a need for additional help they give us (RSVP) a call and tell us what they need help with, when and where. We search our volunteer database for a list of those who have those skills or that interest to match the needs requested. Our Volunteer Coordinator, Angie Crabtree, then calls those individuals to see if they are interested and available to help that organization.

They may be requesting help with clerical work, a fundraiser, preparing a mailing, help with an informational booth at an event or to help tutor a child. We may ask you to help man the Volunteer Reception Center during the recovery time following a disaster. We sometimes get calls for someone to check on a shut-in or call them to make sure they are okay. We have requests for some who is a knitter or can crochet to make lap blankets for nursing home residents or baby items for Cradle Pregnancy Care. There is really is no end to the list of requests that we receive.

How do you become a station with us?

If you are interested in partnering with RSVP and having our volunteers help you meet your goals—give us a call. We will go over all the responsibilities and benefits of being a volunteer station.

Some are:

  • Sign a Memorandum of Understanding
  • Supervise our volunteers / validate their time sheets
  • No cost to you
  • We provide needed help
